\nIM<\/strong> Association exists to: “promote and spread the Christian biblical Evangelical faith, through the missionary work of its associates”, and to “promote and engage in activities which contribute to promote a world-view which is expressly Christian, biblical and Evangelical in all spheres of human existence..” (IM Constitution, Art.3).<\/p>\n
\nItalian Ministries (IM) exists:
\n\u2022 To facilitate the development of missional vision and action for the\u00a0church in Italy.
\n\u2022 As a missional network in Italy bringing together like-minded\u00a0missionaries to form a field-based fellowship.
\n\u2022 To offer a window of opportunity for Italians to be involved in\u00a0mission service (in close collaboration with GMI<\/strong>).
\n\u2022 To work with local churches, organisations and individuals (in Italy\u00a0and elsewhere) to facilitate a vision for mission.<\/p>\n
\nIn 1998 a group of missionaries (Kurt Jost, Giuseppe Palermo and\u00a0Jonathan Gilmore) formed the FEMI association (Fellowship of\u00a0Evangelical Missionaries in Italy) in response to the growing need for\u00a0closer contact between missionaries in Italy, both Italian and\u00a0expatriates, and act a common platform to facilitate fellowship,\u00a0communication and collaboration.\u00a0Italian Ministries (IM) was constituted in 2006 and takes up the\u00a0heritage of FEMI, continuing and developing a vision and a commitment\u00a0to mission.<\/p>\n
\nIM accepts this statement of faith:
\n\u2022\u00a0The Bible:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>We believe in its divine verbal inspiration, in its\u00a0perfect inerrant authority.
\n\u2022\u00a0God:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0We believe in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
\n\u2022\u00a0Jesus Christ:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0We believe in His perfect divinity and in His\u00a0complete humanity, in His expiatory work and in His coming return.
\n\u2022\u00a0The Holy Spirit:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0We believe in the Holy Spirit, in His divinity and\u00a0in His personality; that He is received at the moment of conversion to\u00a0God; in His indwelling all those who believe in Jesus Christ; in His\u00a0action in the Church.
\n\u2022\u00a0Man and Sin:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0We believe that man is fallen and that all humanity\u00a0dwells under the dominion of Satan, in rebellion, corruption and\u00a0condemnation.
\n\u2022\u00a0Salvation:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0We believe that man’s justification is accomplished by\u00a0God’s grace alone, in Jesus Christ, and that it is received by faith\u00a0alone. We believe in the need for repentance and new birth which lead\u00a0to a life of holiness, witness and service to God’s glory through the\u00a0action of the Holy Spirit.
\n\u2022\u00a0The Church:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>We believe that the universal Church is made up of\u00a0those redeemed by Jesus Christ. Its true and sole unity is in its only\u00a0head: Jesus Christ.
\n\u2022\u00a0The Future:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0We believe in the resurrection of all persons, to the\u00a0eternal happiness of the redeemed and to the eternal punishment of\u00a0unrepentant sinners.<\/p>\n
